Why?
2006 to present vehicles such as the Buick Enclave, GMC Acadia, Chevrolet Traverse and Saturn Outlook use
an inadequate and rather proprietary oil filter from the factory
which has caused early timing chain failures and dealer
reprogramming of the OLM system (oil life monitor) aboard these
vehicles. The OEM and replacement oil filters available for these
vehicles use a metric thread and limit the consumer to very few
choices in oil filter selection. These OEM and replacement filters
do not provide sufficient filtration or longevity and have cheaply
designed anti-drainback valves.
What is the solution?

easy solution that can
be installed in minutes the next time you change your oil. After
installing the adapter you will be able to choose from an unlimited selection of
standard thread 3/4"x16 oil
filters or pick one based on our recommended filter list.
But does this void my warranty?
The GM
PowerTrain Warranty would only be 'void' if you failed to change
your oil at all or used an oil filter that was inferior to the OEM
unit. The GMOilFix36 oil
filter adapter allows you to use a superior filter compared to
its OEM or available replacement.
